Day 1
Welcome to Sri Lanka
You will arrive at Colombo International Airport (CMB) on your first day. Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide. After a brief introduction to your tour, the guide will assist you with your luggage and escort you to a comfortable vehicle. Enjoy a scenic drive to Negombo, a charming coastal town just a short distance from the airport. After checking in at your transit hotel, you can relax and explore the beach or nearby attractions, setting the stage for an exciting journey in Sri Lanka. A delicious dinner will be provided on your first evening to ensure your comfort.Day 2, 3, & 4
Exploring Galle
Day 2: After breakfast, embark on a scenic trip from Negombo to Galle Road. Then, you will exit from Ambalangoda, and our first attraction will be the Madu River Boat Safari. Madu River Boat Safari We welcome you to Madu River Boat Safari, your gateway to the hidden beauty of Madu Ganga in Balapitiya, Sri Lanka. Embark on an unforgettable boat ride through this enchanting lagoon, renowned for its 64 islands and rich biodiversity. We visit around ten islands in the lagoon. Our journey begins as you board our fully insured boat, navigating through a stunning natural mangrove cave. Along the way, you'll visit Cinnamon Island, where you can witness the traditional cinnamon manufacturing process. Marvel at rural fishermen in their traditional catamarans, adding to the picturesque charm of the lagoon. Keep an eye out for diverse wildlife that thrives in this serene environment. Discover a peaceful temple nestled on the Koth Duwa. Your boat safari will take approximately two hours. Drive through the Seniac coastal area. Ambalangoda to Galle Your journey will continue along the beautiful southern coastline from Ambalangoda to Gall, passing beautiful beaches. You will pass through tourist cities like Hikkaduwa and Rathgama, taking in the views of pristine beaches as you approach Galle. Galle Dutch Fort We welcome you to visit Galle Dutch Fort. Located in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, the fort was built first by the Portuguese in 1588 and extensively fortified by the Dutch from 1649 onwards during the 17th century. It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage monument and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit key attractions, including the Maritime Museum, the old lighthouse, charming Dutch colonial villas, and local antique shops. Afterwards, enjoy a city tour of Galle, immersing yourself in its rich history and vibrant culture, before being dropped off at your hotel to relax for the rest of the day. Day 3: After a delightful breakfast, your guide will take you on an exciting river safari at Koggala Lake. This serene and scenic experience allows you to immerse yourself in the lush surroundings and observe the local wildlife and vibrant birdlife. The peaceful waters and rich biodiversity will make for a memorable morning. The lagoon consists of eight small islands, such as Mangrove Island (Madol Duwa), Cinnamon Island, Kathduwa, and so on. Following the river safari, you'll embark on a hike to Roomassala Jungle Beach. The path to this hidden gem offers adventure and stunning views as you navigate lush jungle terrain. Once you arrive at the beach, you’ll have time to enjoy a refreshing sea bath in the warm waters of Southern Sri Lanka's coastline, a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. In the late afternoon, you'll return to your hotel, where you can unwind after a day full of adventure and natural beauty. Day 4: After a delicious breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya, a stunning rock temple nestled among towering rock formations. The journey to the temple involves a rewarding climb, allowing you to appreciate the surroundings fully. At the top, you'll be greeted by a magnificent statue of Lord Buddha, along with intricate murals and wall paintings that depict scenes from Buddhist teachings. The serene atmosphere and panoramic views make this a spiritual and cultural highlight of the day. In the afternoon, your guide will take you to the beautiful Mirissa Beach, known for its breathtaking natural beauty. The beach is a paradise of golden sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush green palm trees swaying in the breeze. The crescent-shaped bay offers panoramic views and is the perfect spot for relaxation or a leisurely walk along the shore. Tissamaharama & Kataragama
Day 5: After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Galle, you will depart to Udawalawe. Your first stop will be the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, where you can learn about elephant conservation efforts and observe these magnificent creatures up close. After the Elephant Transit Home visit, your guide will take you to Tissa Lake Safari. You will experience the lake safari, which was constructed in ancient civilizations in southern Sri Lanka. You will enjoy Lake Cruse for one hour. Glide across the serene lakes, surrounded by lush landscapes and the melodies of exotic birdlife. Led by experienced boatmen, this exclusive water safari is designed for those seeking a peaceful escape into the heart of Tissamaharama’s natural beauty. In the evening, explore Tissamaharama, immersing yourself in local village life, visiting the historic temple Tissamaharama, and indulging in authentic southern Sri Lankan cuisine. After a fulfilling day, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. Day 6: Rise early, have breakfast, and travel from Tissamaharama to Kataragama. Once you arrive in Kataragama, we will take you to Sella Kataragama, one of the oldest villages, for a religious and cultural experience. Your guide will explain and show you exciting places, shrines, local beliefs, natural gems, rivers, and village life. In the evening, your guide will take you to Kiri Vehera, an ancient stupa in Kataragama, Sri Lanka. This stupa probably dates back to the 3rd century BC. It is believed to have been built by King Mahasena. Then, you will visit the foremost Hindu temple to gain cultural experience. Then, your guide will drop you at your hotel. Day 7: Rise early and have breakfast for an exciting safari at Yala National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Spotting elephants, leopards, and various bird species in their natural habitats is a thrill. In the afternoon, we will take you for a relaxing village walk, show you paddy fields, and show you the Gem River. After dinner at a local restaurant, you will be dropped off at your hotel.day 8,9 & 10
Ella
Day 8: After breakfast in Kataragama, you are again on your road trip towards Ella, this picturesque mountain town. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel in Southern Ella and take some time to relax and soak in the serene surroundings. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge, a stunning colonial-era structure set amidst lush greenery. You can walk from Ella Town for one hour and capture breathtaking photographs of the bridge as it towers above the mist, or you can opt for a convenient tuk-tuk ride for a quicker journey. As the sun sets, immerse yourself in Ella's vibrant nightlife. The town boasts various lively restaurants and bars, offering a delightful mix of local and international cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere that sets it apart from other South Asian destinations. Day 9: Rise early for a hike to Ella Rock, also known as Little Adam’s Peak. This trek, lasting between three to five hours, takes you through beautiful tea plantations and dense forests, rewarding you with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. In the afternoon, cool off at Ravana Falls, where you can experience the refreshing waters and stunning natural beauty. The falls are a perfect natural spa, revitalizing your energy for further exploration. Then, you’ll also have the chance to visit the nearby Ravana Caves, which are rich in history and folklore. After a day filled with adventure and stunning sights, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, concluding an unforgettable experience in one of Sri Lanka’s most enchanting locations. Day 10: Rise early and tour a tea factory, one of the must-do activities in Ella. We will take you to Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory, one of the largest in Sri Lanka. It is located just 4km outside of Ella town. After the Tea factory visit, we will take you to Diyaluma Falls (Sri Lanka’s second tallest falls). The impressive long drop of water stands 220 metres high and has several tiers and natural swimming pools. You’ll pass the bottom of Diyaluma Falls on the road, where you can admire the incredible view of the long dramatic drop from the top of the escarpment. However, the best part of the waterfall is that the upper falls have a series of natural pools in which to swim. To reach the Upper Diyaluma Falls, you must walk on a short hiking trail. After the Diyaluma Falls visit, we will bring you back to your hotel.Day 11, 12 & 13
Nuwara Eliya
Day 11: Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at your hotel in Ella before departing from Nuwara Eliya, known for its enchanting mist-covered mountains. Upon arrival, check into your cosy hotel, where the serene surroundings set the tone for your stay. Your first stop is the stunning Ramboda Waterfall. This majestic cascade, surrounded by lush greenery, offers a breathtaking sight and a perfect backdrop for photos. Feel the refreshing mist as you take in the area's natural beauty. Next, immerse yourself in the world of tea at the Pedro Estate Tea factory. Here, you'll discover the intricate process of tea manufacturing, from cultivation to grading and packaging for export. Learn about the rich history of Sri Lankan tea and the art that goes into producing some of the finest teas in the world. After an enriching day, return to your hotel to unwind. Day 12: Rise early to explore Victoria Park, a tranquil oasis in the heart of Nuwara Eliya. Spanning approximately 27 acres, the park features meticulously manicured lawns, towering trees, and a vibrant array of flowering plants, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or relaxation. Continue your exploration at the Hakgala Botanical Garden, the second-largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. Established in 1861, this 28-hectare garden is part of the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve. Wander through themed gardens and scenic walking paths, where you'll encounter a diverse collection of exotic plants, trees, and flowers, all set against a picturesque landscape. In the evening, head to Gregory Lake, a serene spot perfect for picnicking and various water activities. Enjoy the peaceful ambience and stunning views as the day comes to a close. After your evening at the lake, return to your hotel, reflecting on the beauty and tranquillity of Nuwara Eliya. Then you return to your hotel. Day 13: Horton Plains National Park: Rise early to explore Horton Plains National Park. After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out, and you will visit Horton Plains National Park. UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka's central highlands. It features stunning landscapes of montane grasslands and cloud forests. Major attractions include World’s End, a dramatic cliff with panoramic views, and Baker’s Falls. In the afternoon, you will start your journey to Kandy.Day 13, 14, 15 & 16
Kandy
Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a city rich in history and culture, set amidst lush hills, serene landscapes, history and culture. As the last royal capital of Sri Lanka, it offers a unique blend of spirituality and beauty. Here’s a captivating two-day itinerary to explore this historic city. Day 13: Arrival and Cultural Immersion
As you journey through picturesque landscapes, anticipate the historical treasures that await you in this vibrant city. You will arrive in Kandy in the late evening and will check in directly to your hotel. .
Day 14 Temple of the Sacred Tooth relic. Rise early in the morning, enjoy breakfast, and prepare for your first visit: the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). Built between 1687 and 1707, this revered temple houses a relic believed to be a tooth of the Buddha. It’s a significant pilgrimage site for Sri Lankans and international visitors, and the atmosphere here is infused with spirituality and reverence. Take your time to explore the ornate architecture and the serene surroundings that enhance this sacred experience. Kandy Museum After immersing yourself in the temple's history, head to the Kandy Museum. Once a royal residence, this museum showcases a fascinating collection of royal regalia and artefacts that reflect the grandeur of the Kandyan kingdom. Notable exhibits include Rajasinha II's golden crown, offering a glimpse into the opulent past. Although some visitors find the layout and lighting lacking, the venue's historical significance makes it a worthwhile stop. Kandyan Cultural Centre - The Kandyan Cultural Dance Show This is one of the most attractive shows you should visit in Kandy if you wanna experience some traditional folk dance of Srilanka. The dancers immerse themselves in the dance and entertain you with their heart and soul, not to be missed. These Dances are performed at local ceremonies and rituals using drums and costumes that are unique to each area. Among the attractions are the Dances depicting the majestic walk of the elephant, the peacock's colourful performance and the cobra's mystical movements.
Return to Your Hotel After a delightful evening, return to your hotel to unwind and reflect on the day's experiences. Day 15: Nature and Cuisine Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. Rise early to enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading to the renowned Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden near the Mahaweli River. This sprawling garden is famous for its extensive collection of orchids and features over 4,000 species of plants, including medicinal herbs and palm trees. Don’t miss the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka, where you can learn more about the country’s diverse flora and fauna. Kandy City Tour & Walk around Kandy Lake. After visiting Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, return to Kandy for a city tour. Visit local landmarks such as the city Centre and walk through the streets to experience Kandy’s vibrant cultural scene. Then, you will walk around Kandy Lake, also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, an artificial lake in the heart of the hill city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It was built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe next to the Temple of the Tooth. It is a protected lake. Next, take a break and indulge in Sri Lankan cuisine. Try signature dishes like rice, curry, hoppers, and kottu roti, and sample traditional sweets. After enjoying dinner, your guide will drop you back at your hotel, allowing you to unwind and savour the memories of your Kandy adventure. Day 16: Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue Rise early to explore the Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue. This place showcases a breathtaking view of the entire Kandy town. The 88ft high statue of Buddha is something one should not miss while in Kandy. The white statue can be seen from any part of Peradeniya city as it is strategically located on top of the Bahirava Kanda (devil’s) hill. You can either climb the steps to reach the viewpoint. The beauty of the statue doubles during the night when lamps light it. The best hour to visit this place is early morning or after sunset.
This place showcases a breathtaking view of the entire Kandy town. Highlights: A panoramic view of the city below, including the lake, tea factory, and football stadium; a gallery with artefacts from Buddha's life; and a souvenir shop with lovely goodies at a much friendlier price. After your Kandy city tour, your driver will take you to Sigiriya, where you will rest at the hotel.Day 17 & 18
Sigiriya (Lion Rock) & Dambulla
Day 17: Rise early to explore Lion Rock, Sigiriya. After breakfast, let's get ready to explore Lion Rock. A Journey to the summit and climbing to the top of Sigiriya are exhilarating experiences. Visitors ascend approximately 1,200 steps, navigating through breathtaking frescoes, mirror walls, and the remnants of an ancient palace. The famous frescoes depicting celestial maidens offer a glimpse into the artistry and culture of the time. As you ascend, you'll encounter the impressive Lion's Gate, which once featured a colossal lion statue. Although only the paws remain, it still evokes a sense of grandeur. Upon reaching the summit, visitors are rewarded with panoramic views of the lush jungles and far-off mountains and the impressive remains of the royal citadel, including water gardens, bathing pools, and the throne room. You may allocate around three hours to enjoy your climb to Sigiriya Rock. Once you finish your visit, the Lions Rock, next you will visit Sigiriya museum. At the museum, you can see an intricate diorama of the site, and onwards from there, you’ll be treated to a plethora of artefacts, from tools to sculptures, jewellery, and more! There’s even a human skeleton, a prehistoric section, and a few exhibits from the pre-civilisation era. It’s the product of over three decades of intense archaeological research, picking apart the clues left behind by its long-gone inhabitants. After lunch, visit Sigiriya village in the central province of Sri Lanka for a relaxing boat ride and a village tour. The tour includes a boat ride across a peaceful reservoir, providing a glimpse into the area's natural beauty and tranquillity. After the village tour and boat ride, return to your hotel. Day 18: Come early and have breakfast to visit the Dambulla cave temple. Towering above the plains of Dambulla is this awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage site, the Dambulla Cave Temple Complex. This ancient Buddhist pilgrimage is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The five significant caves are dotted with 150-plus stunning Buddha statues. After exploring the Dambulla Cave Temples, your guide will hike down and gaze your eyes upon one of the enormous Buddha statues. As it turns out, it’s the largest Buddha in this position and is plated with real gold. The Golden Buddha sits above the Buddha Museum and is surrounded by other artwork and statues, including elephants. From the ground floor, you can walk up the side of the museum to the Buddha's base. Finally, we will take you to the farmers' market in Dambulla Dedicated Economic Center. In this bustling place, you can see a beautiful display of local produce from all over the island. It is an interesting market to visit for its colourful sights, sounds, and bustle of farmers. After you visit Dambulla attractions, you will return to your hotel.Day 19, 20 & 21
Colombo
Day 19: Rise early and, after breakfast, travel to Colombo. Once you arrive, check-in at your hotel and rest for some time. In the evening, you will visit The Galle Face, a 5-hectare ribbon strip of land between Galle Road and the Indian Ocean, the most significant open space in Colombo. This is a popular destination for children, vendors, teenagers, lovers, kite flyers, merrymakers, and all those who want to indulge in their favourite pastimes next to the sea under the open sky. We recommend you visit 'The One Galleface shopping mall'- a luxury shopping mall in Sri Lanka. After your visit, you will return to your hotel. Day 20: Rise early for breakfast and your first visit to the Main Street Market in Colombo. Your guide will escort you to the walk-in market. Next, you will visit Jami-Ul Alfar Mosque-Red Mosque. It is a historic mosque in Colombo. Construction of the Jami-Ul-Alfar Mosque commenced in 1908, and the building was completed in 1909. The mosque was commissioned by the local Indian Muslim community based in Pettah. Next, you will visit the Lotus Tower in Colombo. The lotus-shaped tower is used for communication, observation, and other leisure facilities. Day 21: After a relaxing morning at your hotel, you can unwind before your departure. If you're interested in some last-minute shopping, your guide can take you to local souvenir shops where you can pick up mementoes of your trip. Additionally, you can visit a spice shop to purchase authentic Sri Lankan spices, a perfect reminder of the island's rich culinary heritage. Once you have completed your shopping, your guide will take you to the International Airport (CMB) for your departure. This will ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey back home, with memories of a beautiful adventure in Sri Lanka.
